Valle Ghenza holds a precious and unique jewel: the Tuber magnatum pico, more commonly known as the white truffle. The "trifulau" (a term that in the local dialect indicates the truffle hunters) with their faithful "tabui" (truffle dogs) start in the early hours of the day, defying the mists and the cold of fall, to look for the precious underground tuber. The Associazione Tartufai della Valle Ghenza (truffle sellers Association) provides the opportunity to experience the "truffle hunting" under the guidance of "trifulau" experts and, of course, with the company of the genuine protagonists of this magnificent and exciting adventure...the faithful "tabui". Moreover, it is possible to taste the typical truffle dishes of the Monferrato tradition at restaurants and holiday farms.
