You can catch sight of the typical white “pietra da cantoni” quarries between the vineyards in the Uviglie areas. Nowadays they are abandoned, but once upon a time the “cantùn” (a type of calcarenite stone) used for civil and religious buildings (the internal façade of the Sant’Antonio Church is an example) were extracted from these quarries.
